On Sunday December 23rd, Jadon and I flew to NY for Christmas. He was really good on the plane. He started out being fussy when we were in line to board the plane, but fell asleep as soon as we got on the plane before we even took off. He did not nurse on the way up like I did the last time we flew, because he was already sleeping. He slept for 2 hours and then woke up to eat. He ate and did great the rest of the flight. Grandma was waiting for us when we landed and was so excited to see us.
On Christmas day, Jadon rolled over for the first time and
it was amazing, because my family was all there. I got it on video, which took
3 times before he did it for me. We spent Christmas and New Years in NY, with
family and friends. I loved celebrating Jadon’s 1st holiday like
this. On Christmas Eve, I read Twas the Night before Christmas to Jadon and my
nephews. Maybe this will be a tradition for Jadon and i. We were very busy
while in NY like always and of course everyone wanted to see Jadon. I love that
my baby is so loved. He got many great things for gifts and I am really glad we
got to spend the holidays in NY.
The playdates have started…
On January 19 we went to Erica & Nathan’s so mommy could
take pictures and Jadon could play with Ashlynn. Then on January 20 we went to
Natasha’s house to play with Ben and Emma. It was fun for the mommies just like
the babies. I love that I can have him interact with other babies.
4 month check up was on January 21. He got shots and weighed 15 lbs 14oz 26 inches long.
On February 10, we went to Jadon’s first “friend” party that
he was invited to. Emma turned 1. I am enjoying the new friends I am making
being a mommy. It is great to have the support of people who are going through
the same thing as you as a new mommy or have already been through it and you can
ask them for help and advice.

On February 22 Jadon went to the doctor for an ear
infection. It wasn’t that bad, it was just starting and we caught it in time so
we just had to give him some medicine and he got all better really quick. He
was 18lbs 2oz. Getting so big!
On February 14, Jason, Jadon & I flew to NY to celebrate
my mom’s 50th birthday. When we got in (really late @ 1am) we went
to Jason’s parents. Jade was wide awake the whole ride there and had a hard
time falling back to sleep. It was a rough night. We spent the day there and
some people came over to visit us. On Saturday, we went to my sister’s house to
get ready for the party. It was a great day celebrating with my mom. We got to
see a lot of people and everyone loved on Jadon. On Sunday we went back to
Jason’s parents and then Monday back to mine before coming home. It was a busy
weekend with lots of running around and time seemed to slip away from me. I
regret that we ran out of time and never made it to see my Grandma Seagrave. I
figured I would be back in a month for Spring break and would see her then.
Unfortunately she didn’t make it that long…
Grandma passed away on February 28th. Jadon and I
flew to NY on Sat, which meant we could be there for James and Tommy’s
birthday. It was tough, but I was happy to see my family again and I knew
Grandma was at peace. She has been in pain for a very long time and now she
isn’t. I was just really mad at myself that I didn’t go see her a couple weeks
before when I was at home. Andrea came to Florida with me on our flight back
after the funeral that Tuesday.
March 9 was a big day for Jadon. First off it was his first
day with food. He got oatmeal as his first foods. He loved it. Andrea and
Valerie were in town so they got to be there to see him get his first foods.
Then we went to Magic Kingdom for the day. It was hot and Jadon wasn’t feeling
very good. He seemed to get sick when we went to NY and was all congested the
whole week.
That led us into March 10 when he went to urgent care and
then the hospital. Jason and I thought Jadon might have been wheezing that
morning so I paid attention to it for a little while and decided that I needed
to take him to urgent care. The only one that was open and would take him was
one in Winter Haven. I was not happy
with that place at all. They didn’t have a place for me to change Jadon and I
had to change him on the floor in the bathroom. They were not nice to me. When
the doctor listened to his chest he told me that I had to take him to the
hospital. Winter Haven hospital was right down the street so that was where we
went. Jason was at work so it was just me and I was really scared that
something was wrong with him. He had to have a chest x-ray done, which he cried
for. We started off having to sit on a bed in the hallway, but after being
there a few hours I got moved to a room with him and he was finally able to get
some sleep there. He had a total of 7 nebulizer treatments, which he did really
good with. The doctor we had was great. She was very nice and explained things
to me when I asked. They thought he had RSV, which really scared me. They
talked about possibly having to transport him to a different hospital. Finally
Jason got done with work and was able to come to us at the hospital. They ended
up saying that he had Bronchiolitis and came home with an inhaler that we had
to give him through this weird puffer thing.
When we followed up with his pediatrician they wanted us to
come in and see him right away. They confirmed that was what he had and instead
of the puffer they gave us a nebulizer, which he liked a lot better. He did his
treatments very well. Jason took off work Mon, Tue and Wed so he could stay
home with Jadon. I was a little jealous
about his time with Daddy, but I knew it was totally worth it. J
6 Months:
Went to the doctor on March 19 for shots. I couldn't be there until the end of the appointment and walked into the room as he was getting his last shot and was crying. I felt so bad for him. I picked him right up. This was the worst time he had with shots, because he got a fever and hard bumps where he got the shots in his legs. He weighed 19 lbs 1 oz. I cannot believe how big he is getting. 1/2 year has gone by already and the time has flown so quickly. I wish I could freeze time right now.
Fun facts:
Belly sleeper
Rolls over – both ways and scoots all over the place
Loves his jumperoo and sitting in his bumbo seat
He grabs everything, including hair
He will hold his own bottle and sippy cup
Diapers size 3
Clothes are sizes 9 to 12 months, some 6 month onesies still
fit.
I make most of Jadon’s food for him. I love doing it. Foods
he has had:
Oatmeal - Loves
Peas - Likes
Sweet Potatoes – Loves
Squash – Likes
Green beans – Dislikes
Ham – Didn’t like the texture
Chicken – Dislikes
Prunes – Loves
Apples – Likes
Bananas – Loves
Pears - Loves
We have had lots of trouble with constipation and have had
to use suppositories, prune juice, karo syrup, white grape juice and tried many
different things to help him go to the bathroom. He has had 4 times where he
has screamed and cried when having to go to the bathroom. I felt horrible for
him.
We got to spend Spring break in NY. Another busy trip,
visiting family and friends. Before we went to NY mom fell and broke her leg so
she was laid up while we were there. We felt bad for her but Jadon made her
feel better. Jadon had his first Easter in NY. He got to see the Easter bunny
and do a couple Easter egg hunts. It again was fun to see family and friends,
but can’t wait until our trips home aren’t so busy. When we were getting ready
to fly back home I got really bad anxiety and was sick on the way to the
airport and basically all the way until I landed in FL. It was really rough.
Tough dealing with things like that on my own and taking care of Jadon makes it
a lot harder.
We have teeth! On April 8, his first tooth popped through
the gum finally. It still has a little more of the tooth to come in but it is
there. The other tooth is just under the gum and you can see that it will pop
through any day now. They are his bottom 2 teeth.
I think that is about all for now. Hopefully it won't take me months before I write again.
:) Michelle
