I had a doctor appointment on Aug. 16th and they checked me for the first time. Nothing to report. Cervix was closed, which was a good thing because I was too early to start anything, that's what the doctor said. So then I had another appointment on Aug. 23rd and got checked again. This time I was 50% effaced and 1cm dilated. To me that was great news, because that meant I was making progress towards meeting my little man. It has been difficult lately with working. I am very tired and sore by the end of the night. I have trouble sleeping at night, which I know is normal. Between excitement and anxiety, my emotions are a big mess.
So in order to prepare for my little man's arrival, I decided this weekend we were going to clean and get things ready the best that we could. Well Sat. morning at around 8am my mucus plug came out. I know it doesn't mean much, but it was another step towards Jadon's arrival. So a little while later I started getting contractions, back pain, pressure in my lower abs and some groin pain. Nothing I couldn't handle, but it was uncomfortable. We decided around 2pm to go into the hospital just to get things checked out. I wasn't even sure they were really contractions considering I don't know what to expect. Sure enough I was having contractions and they were coming about 4-9 minutes apart. The nurse checked me and I was still 50% effaced and 1cm so the contractions were not dilating me, which meant she would be able to stop labor. So she gave me a shot to stop the labor and observed me for another hour. The contractions slowed down and a little while later we were sent on our way home with instructions to drink lots of water and REST. If I was 37 weeks she would have let things continue to see if I would progress, but I am only 36 weeks and they wanted the baby to stay in longer.
Looks like baby is going to come sometime soon and I am very excited yet nervous about it. Daddy is for sure nervous, but I know he is excited as well. He is being very overprotected of me right now. I can't get up off the couch unless I have to go pee. lol. He is taking care of me and I love him for it. I will go back to work this week, but she said I need to sit as much as possible and then rest when I get home at night. Rest is the biggest thing to keep him inside for the next week and then I am good to go to have this baby. :)
Will keep everyone posted....

Getting closer...
So I feel like it has been forever since I posted and it's because I have been so busy and I guess a little lazy. All my doctor appointments have been going good. Baby is still head down and growing at a normal rate. I am getting bigger and gaining more weight by the day. Every time I go to the doctor, the worst part is getting on the scale. I know it will come off afterwards, but still, being this big is a little scary sometimes. I am growing a life inside me and it is amazing so whatever else comes with it is fine with me. Jadon is definitely a strong little boy. His kicks have gotten stronger in the last couple of weeks and I can see my stomach move, which is pretty cool. Sometimes he puts his foot out of my stomach and I can push back on it. I love playing with my little man and can't wait until he is here to play with him for real.
We finished our birth classes and did our hospital tour. That made things even more real that we are getting closer to having our little boy. It is very exciting. I feel more prepared and that helped ease some anxiety. Now it is just a waiting game to see when he will decide to come. Our bags are packed for the most part. I wanted it all done before school started so it was 1 less thing to worry about.
While my family was in town, we got Jadon's room all set up and it is ready for him. We did some cleaning of the house, moving things around and packing things up. There is still more to do and I have been doing it a little at a time, but am just so tired more days that I can't do too much. Then when I do a lot, I get really sore. Sleeping at night is ok. I am uncomfortable a lot and get up to pee like 3 times, but it could be worst. Sometimes when I do wake up, I can't fall back to sleep because my mind is racing (or Jadon is kicking the crap out of me).
What I am not liking right now...
Stretch marks have started. I knew I was going to get them so I don't know why I am surprised. They aren't too bad yet, but I still have some time to go. Heart burn is still getting me almost everyday. Dental work is just killing me. They are having so much trouble with what they are doing and it is causing me pain as well as having to go out there like every week. School is starting soon and I have been trying to work on lesson plans so I am a little more prepared before we go back to work. I don't want to go back to work, but I know it won't be for too long, because then I will be on maternity leave. :)
That's about all I can think of right now. I am hoping to have at least 1 more post in before little man comes, but we will see how busy I am with school starting tomorrow and still trying to get things done and ready around the house.
Until next time...

30 weeks, Oh my...
SO much has happened lately and it has all been so exciting yet overwhelming...
Recently I was in NY where we had 2 baby showers and were showered with MANY gifts. We got more then I ever thought we would have. Jadon is so loved by so many people that it really warms my heart. As of right now, we really do not need anything else, but him. :)
On June 29 we had our 4d ultrasound & it was amazing. I could not believe what we were able to see. He is precious all around and it brought tears to my eyes. The whole experience was great from start to finish. The images we got were so clear. He is my little pumpkin and I cannot wait until he is hear so I can hold him and kiss him.
On July 5 I had an OB appt and had to get my Rh- shot. That hurt! But doctor said everything is great with baby, he is growing just like he is supposed to. My only issues are my siatic pain and back pain. I am now wearing a back brace to help with that, but honestly it don't help that much. He said I might not be able to go back to work, but we will monitor it and see how I am doing in a month.
My family drove down to FL with all the stuff from the showers and everything my sister gave me from her boys. We have a LOT of stuff for Jadon. WOW. Never thought we would get it all in the house, but amazingly we did. They just left yesterday and were so much help while they were here. We were able to move rooms around, get Jadon's room all set up and do some cleaning along the way. We still have a lot to do before little man makes his appearance, but we are now 1 step closer.
As the weeks get closer to my due date, my anxiety level rises. I am so scared of so many different things, which I know are normal, especially for first time moms. I am also really anxious, because I want to meet my little guy and know that he really is ok. We started our birth classes this past week and they should be very informational for us. I look forward to the rest of them, which will end with a tour of the hospital and I can't wait to see where Jadon will be delivered.
Well until next time as we near closer to our due date...

Good news all around...
June 13th: Ultrasound and OB appt
First we started off with the ultrasound at a new place ( I was not going back to the other lady after all the problems we had with her). This place was great. They took us 20 minutes early...yes EARLY. The ultrasound lasted for over 30 minutes and she was wonderful. We got to see every part of Jadon that we could. He is perfect. He had his ankles crossed, it was so cute. He had his hands in front of his face playing shy. All his measurements were right on where he is supposed to be and the tech said everything looked good....including my placenta. She said that it looked like it was right where it needed to be so that was all good news. We got a few pictures that we were able to take home. :)
Then we headed off to the OB appt. Weight gained -2. I went down 2 pounds but the doctor said it wasn't anything to be concerned with, I just needed to make sure I was staying hydrated. Got the results of my glucose testing and everything was good. He did my measurements and said I was right where I was supposed to be and that baby was growing perfectly.
Both appointments were great with all good news and it was a happy day.
What is coming up:
June 20 - leave for NY
June 24 - Baby shower
June 28 - 28 weeks and 3rd trimester starts
June 29 - 4d ultrasound & Baby shower
July 5 - OB appt and Rh- shot
Until next time...

24 weeks
Well time seems to be going fast for me right now, but that is probably because I have so much going on. School year is coming to an end, finished my Reading endorsement and having some showers for Jadon already.
Ok let's start with the fun stuff: Baby showers...
I have had 2 of them so far and they have been amazing. Been getting such great gifts for him and I absolutly love that we are celebrating this little miracle growing in side of me. I am surrounded by lots of friends who I know love him already and that warms my heart. I wish his room was ready to start putting everything away, but that will happen when my family comes down in July and we can move everything out of his room that isn't going to be staying in there.
Doctor's appt.:
So on May 23rd I had a check up appointment and because Jason couldn't come I invited Brittany to come along. It was awesome and she was even able to record his heartbeat for me. I love that I can hear it at any time now. It is an amazing thing to hear. At the appointment I was told that they reviewed my last ultrasound information and said I have a low lying placenta that they are going to have to keep an eye on, because if it doesn't move up like it is supposed to then there are complications we will have to deal with. The good part of it is that we get more ultrasounds, which means more times to see our little guy. :) We will be having one in the next 2 weeks, before we go to NY. Can't wait to see him on the screen again.
Side notes:
Jadon is moving all the time now and it is awesome to feel him. It makes me know everything is ok in there. He is very active and I love every minute of it.
Not much else to report as of right now...more later.

21 weeks and going strong
Jadon has been so active this past week. I have felt him moving before this week., but this week has been a milestone with his movements. He is moving non stop and I love it. It means he is doing well in there and that makes me smile. We have started making some progress in his room, but not much. I don't think it will all get done until this summer when we have more time. I am currently making some things for him, like blankets, which are awesome! I will post pictures once they are finished. Now that we have made it past the half way mark, I look back and think that went fast, even though I felt it dragged on during the time. Now I am that much closer to holding Jadon. I am scared, but excited! I have started having more anxiety about being a mom and all the responsibility that will come with it. I know Jason and I will be great parents and we will make it through whatever is thrown our way.
Cravings:
Ok so I love carmel right now, anything that has carmel, but recently had an amazing carmel frosty from Wendy's. Plus V8 Splash Cherry Pomegranate flavor. Chocolate milk is like an everyday thing for me too. That is pretty much it for cravings.
Leg cramps:
OMG leg cramps in the middle of the night are HORRIBLE!!! They are so painful and when they first started they put me in tears. Now I have learned what to do to work them out and make the pain not so bad. Sometimes I wake up in the morning with my calf still hurting, but I guess I can deal with it.
Next appt is May 23rd and I cannot wait to hear his heartbeat again. I love that sound. I will post an update at that time.

It's a Boy!!!
On April 24th, we found out we are having a boy. I know it has been awhile since I posted last so I am going to try and play catch up here as share as much as I can. I guess I am not the best blogger, but will try.
First off let's talk about how I am feeling...
Well most days I am ok. I have moments where I am sick to my stomach and even still throw up sometimes. That parts sucks! I feel a little uncomfortable, because of how I am carrying right now, but don't want to complain, because I know it will get worst. Sleeping at night has been difficult. I hate our bed and was uncomfortable in it before I was pregnant, but now it is worst. I try every position and it just doesn't work for me. My arm falls asleep if I lay on my side, but I read that I am not supposed to lay on my back anymore. lol. I know I am crazy. Heart burn, OMG! It was really bad in the beginning and then got better, but it is back and is the worst that I have ever had. I can't believe how it makes you feel.
What am I craving?
I haven't had too many cravings so far, but when I do, it amazes me how bad I want it. In the beginning I really wanted salsa and chips all the time. I was eating ice cream like every night for a few weeks. Then I started wanting caramello chocolate bars. Of course they didn't sell them in the stores anymore and only some gas stations had them so we had to go on a search. When we found them I would buy a bunch. I am trying to limit my sweets, but sometimes that is just too hard. Hopefully the cravings don't get really bad, but I am just lucky if I can get food in me and keep it down sometimes.
Prenatal appointment on April 18th...
Appointment went very well. I got measured for the first time and am 19cm, which the doctor said was right on track. The heartbeat was strong and so awesome to hear like always. The doctor was so nice, I have to see all of them in the facility, because I don't know which one will be on call when I deliver, but not all of them are as nice as he was.
Ultrasound on April 24th...
Leading up to this day, I felt like I couldn't think of anything else. I wanted to see the baby SO bad and I wanted to know what it was. From day one I told Jason I thought it was a boy. Then people started sharing their opinions about what they thought I was having based on how I was carrying and so on...all saying girl. Then I took some tests online that all said girl so slowly I started to change my mind and I thought for sure that it was going to be a girl. I should have stuck with my first instincts that said boy, because sure enough that is what we are having. :)
So we get to the appointment and go to check in, they ask if we are wanting to find out the gender and of course I say yes. I was then informed that I had to pay an additional $75 to find out gender. I was shocked!!! I had no idea, but I couldn't say no, because I wanted to know. So then the lady shows up late again just like last time and we had to wait forever for her. I was the first appointment and I expected her to be on time, but was wrong. Anyways, we get called in and she gets started. I finally got to see the baby on screen and it was amazing. To see him moving around, which he was doing a lot, was just awesome. I could see his heartbeat on the screen, which was really cool. Finally she just says, "It's a boy" like it was no big deal. She wasn't very personable or very nice to us. The best part was when we saw him waving to us. Every time his hand was in the picture, he would wave and I started crying at one point, because it was just so emotional for me. Before the appointment started I was told I was going to get a disk with pictures so when I got the disk I couldn't wait to get to work and look at everything. I was so disappointed, because when I got the folder opened on the computer I found a short video and that was it. I love the video, but was very disappointed that it didnt have any of the pictures that she took and it wasn't even a video of the whole ultrasound, which would have been great, especially to have him waving. After that experience I decided that I definitly wanted to get the 3d/4d ultrasound done and be able to see the baby again. I started looking into them right away and decided that we are going to do one in NY where our family can come with us. The appointment has been scheduled already and I am so excited!!!
Here is the video. I had to tape the screen, because I couldn't save the video they gave me.
Name has been picked out...
Jadon Charles Hill (name was picked to be similiar to Jason's. Middle name is Jason's middle name and is a family name that we are carrying on.)
Some pictures I took when I freezed the video and took pictures of the screen with the camera.
